Since 1860 Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi (UAIC) has been carrying on a tradition of excellence and innovation in the fields of education and research. According to the national and international ranking UAIC is ranked among the top universities in the country in terms of research, education and institutional transparency, great visibility and international impact. UAIC has 23000 students in its 15 faculties, offering 275 degrees at Bachelor and Master level and 26 fields of study at Doctoral level. Its educational offers are among the most diversified, including programs taught in English in collaboration with partner universities, as well as courses created in cooperation with the business sector.
UAIC cooperates with over 300 universities world-wide and is affiliated to some of the most important university networks and associations: Coimbra Group, Utrecht Network, European Association of Universities, Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, International Association of Universities. The interdisciplinary research departments include three platforms for interdisciplinary research: ARHEOINVEST (Archaeology, Geography, Geology, Biology and Physics), AMON (Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology), MEDIAEC (for all fields in the university). UAIC has a Department for Students Services and Alumni Affairs (DSSA) which provides integrated services for students and graduates, develops studies regarding students and graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship. Projects developed by DSSA sustain and promote students and graduates entrepreneurship, career development and the communication with business environment and the employers in the area.
